1. Disney Character Egg Hunt – Hong Kong Disneyland

Every year during Spring over a hundred different Disney character themed Easter Eggs appear across Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as part of the Carnivale of Stars event. Easter and Springtime are two of my favourite times to visit Hong Kong Disneyland as the decor is beautiful and it’s before the hot and humid summer weather arrives. I also took the opportunity this year to upgrade my Magic Access annual pass from Silver to Gold meaning I can hopefully visit the park more this year when I’m in Hong Kong and not have to worry about blackout dates.

If you are planning a trip to Hong Kong, I have a written a full planning guide with everything you need to know about visiting Hong Kong Disneyland.

Each year I’ve done the Disney Character Egg Hunt, most of the eggs have been in the same place as before but some have moved every year (especially since the transformation of Sleeping Beauty Castle started) and every year, there are always new eggs to try and find. Despite there being no “prize” for finding all of the eggs (apart from a feeling of satisfaction), it’s something I always enjoy doing as I love taking the time to explore the park. There used to be a list and pictures of all the eggs you could find on the park map but this does not happen anymore.

The first egg that you can find when entering the park is Tinker Bell which is located in the flowerbed in front of Main Street Station – this egg always used to found in Fantasyland but has moved because of the castle construction.

As you walk underneath the Disneyland Railroad into Main Street USA, the new Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz eggs are located in front of the Annexe and the Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde eggs are located in front of the Animation Academy.

In the middle of Town Square, you will find Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, Duffy, Shellie May, Gelatoni, Stella Lou and Cookie making her first appearance this year after appearing as a mysterious blank yellow egg last year. Mike Wazowski and Sulley can be found in front of Art of Animation.

Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear from Inside Out are located on top of the doorways and the roof of the Art of Animation building and Olaf can once again be found outside the Royal Princess Garden.

The Genie and Abu are two new eggs this year ready for the upcoming live-action film of Aladdin and they can be found at Karibuni Marketplace.

Simba, Timon and Pumbaa are at the entrance of the Festival of the Lion King whilst Pua and Hei Hei are where you board the rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse.

King Louie and Baloo can be found in Adventureland just before you walk underneath the railroad to Grizzly Gulch and if you look up, you will see Kaa camouflaged at the top of a lamp post.

Lucky the Dog, Nugget, Mother Lode and Rocky are all found close to Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars and Albert the Monkey is in front of Mystic Manor.

The new eggs in Toy Story Land are Slinky Dog, Bo Peep and Bullseye who join Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Hamm, Rex, the Aliens and Lotso.

Lumiere, Cogsworth, Chip, Mrs Potts and the Beast are all found to the side of the entrance to Fairytale Forest in Fantasyland whilst Sorcerer Mickey is above the entrance to Mickey’s Philharmagic.

Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo are all located around the entrance to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledum, Tweedledee and the White Rabbit are found at the Mad Hatter Tea Cups.

R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 are located in Tomorrowland opposite Hyperspace Mountain whilst Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers are found at the entrance to Hyperspace Mountain – and out of all of the eggs across the resort, these are the hardest to get a photo of without anyone in them as there is always people walking in front of your camera or climbing over them as they are not situated behind any form of fence or barrier.

Black Panther is located to the side of Comet Cafe and the Incredibles (joined this year by Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack) are in front of Orbitron. The new Captain Marvel egg joins Iron Man outside the Expo Shop.

Spiderman can be found high up on the roof of the Iron Man Experience and during my visit Ant-Man and the new Wasp egg were located below but I have since seen photos of them relocated to outside the new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle attraction now that it is open.

Baymax and Hiro Hamada have been relocated from Main Street USA to the Starliner Diner and Groot and Rocket are at the entrance to Tomorrowland.

After finding all the eggs located in the park, I made my way to the Explorers Lodge Hotel where Nemo and Dory can be found in the waterfall close to the swimming pool. I then visited the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel where all seven dwarfs are found in the gardens next to the maze.

The Character Egg Hunt and the Carnivale of Stars event runs until 25 June 2019. Which is your favourite egg at the park? Let me know and have fun at Hong Kong Disneyland!
