On the final morning of our Pixar Day at Sea cruise on the Disney Fantasy, I woke up just after 7:00am. This was actually the latest I had managed to sleep during our whole time onboard the ship which is funny because at home, I struggle to wake up without setting several alarms! Looking outside, it was simply the most beautiful and picture perfect morning and I could not wait to enjoy the rest of our day onboard as we spent the day at sea slowly sailing around in circles in the Bahamas. On the fourth day of our Pixar Day at Sea cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Fantasy, I woke just after 6:00am after a much needed solid night of sleep and immediately felt far more refreshed than I had the previous few mornings. Although I would happily have stayed in bed a little longer, I decided instead to make the most of another early start and headed up to Deck 12 for some fresh air, where another glorious morning was just beginning. After such a long day the day before thanks to our amazing Pixar Day at Sea onboard the Disney Fantasy, I think I must have been completely overtired because I slept so badly that night. Once again I was awake just before 6:00am, however I did not mind too much as I knew that we had a much more relaxed day ahead of us as we were due to dock at Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera. On the first full day of our Disney Fantasy cruise I woke up just after 6:30am all ready for our Pixar Day at Sea. I was very grateful to have had a good night’s sleep as I knew that we had a very long day ahead of us. It was a beautiful morning out and after quickly running up to Deck 11 for a cup of tea along with a pastry from Cove Cafe, we sat in bed and watched the Good Morning Disney Fantasy show on the television before looking over the Personal Navigator on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and planning out our day ahead which I was so looking forward to. Over the years I have often found that some of the best and most memorable trips are the ones that you never expect to take – and I certainly never expected to find myself sailing onboard the beautiful Disney Fantasy on a Pixar Day at Sea cruise at all this year. If you have ever sailed on any cruise before, you normally have the same feeling on the last night which is usually “I really don’t want to get off tomorrow” shortly followed by “I wish we could stay onboard for another cruise”. I know that I have definitely always felt like this so earlier this year we booked a “Back to Back” sailing (two consecutive cruises on the same ship) onboard the Disney Wish and it was truly one of the best decisions we have ever made. If you are either dreaming about or planning an amazing cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, Disney Adventure or the future Disney Believe, I can honestly say that you will have an absolutely incredible time sailing with Disney Cruise Line. I have now sailed on sixteen different cruises and itineraries (including Alaska, the Bahamas, Caribbean, Transatlantic, Hawaii and the Panama Canal) on six of the current ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and it has definitely become one of my favourite ways to travel as well as being one of my happy places. If you love Christmas and love Disney Cruise Line then a Very Merrytime Cruise could be for you. I sailed on the Disney Wonder out of Galveston on a Western Caribbean cruise back in December 2017 and had an incredible week onboard. For me Disney and Christmas just go together perfectly and create a magical experience – it was a perfect mix of everything I love about a regular Disney Cruise with an extra dusting of Christmas magic. My very first Disney cruise was seven years ago back in 2013 on the Disney Wonder to Alaska. It only seems like yesterday since we were embarking the ship in Vancouver and I still have such happy memories from that trip. However before the cruise I read everything and more that I could about sailing with Disney Cruise Line but there was definitely some things that I had not read about that definitely came as a shock to me or I wish we had done differently. I learnt so much on that first cruise which enabled me to be able to enjoy all of our next cruises to the fullest. (more…)

When we booked our recent Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy, we originally had another stateroom on Deck 8 booked. However one night when wide awake and suffering the effects of jetlag from another trip, I was looking at our booking online when I noticed that stateroom 8188 was showing as available. I knew that this was one of the cabins that have a giant oversized verandah so I moved our reservation to it there and then – it made sense to given how much we both loving having a verandah on a cruise.
