On the final day of our Marvel Day at Sea cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Dream I woke up after a good night’s sleep and immediately walked out onto our verandah where I could already see Castaway Cay ahead in the distance. It was so strange to be back at Castaway Cay as I really was not expecting to visit at all this year but that is what happens when other cruise companies cancel your long-awaited trip and mess you around leaving you to find alternative (and as it turns out, much better) plans! At the top of my list of things to do when I visited Castaway Cay on the beautiful Disney Wish earlier this year was to finish the Castaway Cay 5K. Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line’s private island located in the Bahamas and despite visiting Castaway Cay four times prior to this cruise, I never imagined that I would ever be able to complete the 5K. However on this trip, I really wanted to push myself and try something new and different, so I decided to walk (as I cannot run to save my life) the Castaway Cay 5K. (more…)

Waking up at 7:00am on the final full day of the first of our back to back cruises onboard the beautiful Disney Wish and seeing the incredible view of Castaway Cay from our verandah was an amazing sight and one that will always make you smile. (more…)

Castaway Cay (pronounced Key) is Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas and is the highlight of the majority of Disney cruises. The only way you can visit Castaway Cay is to take a Disney Cruise and even if not a beach person like myself, you will find it a little piece of paradise. The palm trees, blue skies (most of the time), crystal clear water and beautiful white sand beaches make it a perfect place to relax.
