If you have ever sailed on any cruise before, you normally have the same feeling on the last night which is usually “I really don’t want to get off tomorrow” shortly followed by “I wish we could stay onboard for another cruise”. I know that I have definitely always felt like this so earlier this year we booked a “Back to Back” sailing (two consecutive cruises on the same ship) onboard the Disney Wish and it was truly one of the best decisions we have ever made. After the best and longest sleep of our entire trip so far, I woke up just after 7:00am ready for our last full day onboard the beautiful Disney Wish. There was an incredible sunrise at sea that morning and sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea in hand with the view of Castaway Cay ahead of us was a perfect way to start the day. (more…)

Despite desperately wanting a lay in on this day, I was wide awake just before 7:00am which was the last thing I wanted after another late night and what I knew was going to be a long day ahead. I was also still feeling incredibly full after having such a wonderful dinner at Enchanté the evening before. After laying in bed awake for a few minutes and realising that I had to move, I decided to do something completely different that I had not ever done before on a cruise and that was to go to the gym! On the morning that we returned to Port Canaveral at the end of our first cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Wish, I woke up at 6:00am to find that we were already docked and when I walked onto our verandah after getting out of bed, it was absolutely freezing outside so I was very grateful that I had brought a hoody with me as it was definitely needed. Waking up at 7:00am on the final full day of the first of our back to back cruises onboard the beautiful Disney Wish and seeing the incredible view of Castaway Cay from our verandah was an amazing sight and one that will always make you smile. (more…)

On the third day of our cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Wish, I woke up at 6:30am ready for our first port day in Nassau. I walked out onto our balcony and it was already light out and the weather was absolutely perfect with no humidity at all which was going to make for a very comfortable day in the Bahamas. As there was only going to be the three ships docked in Nassau on this day, we had already planned what we were going to do and take advantage of a quieter port as we knew that it was going to be a lot busier later that week when we returned on the second half of our back to back cruise. After a good night’s sleep, I woke up early on the second day of our back to back Disney Wish cruise due to a light near the door of our stateroom which was shining brightly and which definitely had not been left on the night before – I even tried to turn it off but was unable to which seemed very strange. We switched on the television to look at the map and we were only just sailing past West Palm Beach so we really had not sailed far at all overnight as we were in no hurry to be anywhere due to our first full day onboard being a day at sea. I had never intended to sail with Disney Cruise Line six times in eighteen months but that is exactly what happened since cruising restarted. As soon as the brand new Disney Wish was announced a few years ago, we knew that we wanted to book as soon as possible and followed all of the construction updates online and were really looking forward to the day when we would finally get to experience her for ourselves. However we also said that we would wait at least six months before we sailed so that any problems onboard could be sorted as there are always issues whenever a new cruise ship lets sail – no matter what cruise line – and we were more than happy to wait that little longer to sail as we had no need to be first!
