Visiting the DMZ had been high on my list for as long as I can remember. I have always been curious about North Korea and a tour of the DMZ is one of the most popular things to do when visiting Seoul. It is certainly the closest that most of us will ever get to being in this mysterious country and the experience offers a fascinating and surreal look the history of both North and South Korea as well as the present day reality. Over the years I had always been fascinated by Lotte World after seeing so many photos and videos online of the indoor and outdoor theme park located in the middle of Seoul, complete with its own Disney-like castle. I really wanted to visit Lotte World when I travelled to South Korea for the first time in September this year but sadly did not have enough time during our short stay. However when we unexpectedly had to stay in Seoul for three extra nights, I knew I had to jump at the opportunity to go and as someone who loves visiting theme parks around the world, it was unlike anywhere I had ever been before. A trip to Zhujiajiao (朱家角古镇) which is also sometimes known as “The Venice of Shanghai” had been on my list of places to visit for the longest time but it was also somewhere that I had never got round to visiting. So when I found out that my next trip to Shanghai would be my last trip to China for the foreseeable future, I knew that I had to make an effort to visit so I finally made the trip out to Zhujiajiao in September last year. 6. How to Run (or Walk) the Castaway Cay 5K

At the top of my list of things to do when I visited Castaway Cay on the beautiful Disney Wish earlier this year was to finish the Castaway Cay 5K. Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line’s private island located in the Bahamas and despite visiting Castaway Cay four times prior to this cruise, I never imagined that I would ever be able to complete the 5K. However on this trip, I really wanted to push myself and try something new and different, so I decided to walk (as I cannot run to save my life) the Castaway Cay 5K. (more…)

  7. How to Hike Platteklip Gorge to the Top of Table Mountain in Cape Town

When I visited the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa for the first time ever over ten years ago, I made sure to take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain (like so many people do) to see the amazing view over this incredible city. I also remember looking out from the cable car and seeing some people hiking to the top of Table Mountain and I clearly remember thinking “Why would you do that?” (more…)

The city of Nassau in the Bahamas is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world however nowhere else in the world splits people’s opinions like Nassau does. So many people have preconceived ideas about Nassau and believe that it is boring, unsafe and that you must book an organised excursion if you venture out as well as saying that you should just stay on the ship as it is not worth getting off at all! However you will soon happily discover that Nassau is a wonderful place to visit and there is a whole lot more beyond the port in Nassau other than Atlantis and Señor Frogs! (more…)
