1. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day Four – Lisbon

After falling asleep very quickly the evening before and as we had gained an hour overnight, I woke up just after 5:00am and the first thing I did was go out onto our verandah to get some fresh air and I could already see the lights of Lisbon off in the distance. As our stateroom was on the opposite side of the Disney Dream to what the city would be and once we got a little bit closer, we quickly got dressed and headed up to a chilly Deck 13 along with a handful of our fellow passengers with a hot drink in hand to watch as we sailed past the Belem Tower, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) and then finally under the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge at 6:20am. 2. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day Three – Vigo

Waking up at 7:00am after a solid night’s sleep onboard the beautiful Disney Dream on our thirteen night Transatlantic cruise was simply one of the best feelings ever especially after the rough seas that we had experienced in the English Channel and across the Bay of Biscay since we left Southampton two days previously. It was still dark outside at this time so I walked up to a very quiet Deck 11 to get us both a cup of tea to begin our day before we sat on our verandah to watch a beautiful sunrise as we sailed along the Ria de Vigo estuary. 3. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day Two – At Sea

Before this cruise I always knew that we could expect rough seas whilst sailing across the Bay of Biscay towards Spain but I was never expecting it to be bad as it was in the English Channel on our first evening onboard due to the added effects of Storm Ashley. I barely slept at all due to the extreme pitching and rolling of the Disney Dream throughout the night which in turn was causing the ship to creak loudly making sleep nearly impossible. (more…)

  4. Disney Dream Transatlantic Cruise: Day One – Southampton

My first Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic all the way back in 2015 remains to this day one of my favourite holidays that I have ever been on. Everything about it was perfect and I can honestly say that I have never been as happy and relaxed as what I was on that trip. So ever since then I have been craving that exact feeling once again but nothing has ever quite matched it. We both love longer cruises as they are so much better in every way than shorter ones and until you have experienced both, you have no idea of how good they actually are. (more…)

  5. Disney Dream Marvel Day at Sea Cruise: Day Five – Castaway Cay

On the final day of our Marvel Day at Sea cruise onboard the beautiful Disney Dream I woke up after a good night’s sleep and immediately walked out onto our verandah where I could already see Castaway Cay ahead in the distance. It was so strange to be back at Castaway Cay as I really was not expecting to visit at all this year but that is what happens when other cruise companies cancel your long-awaited trip and mess you around leaving you to find alternative (and as it turns out, much better) plans! (more…)

  6. Disney Dream Marvel Day at Sea Cruise: Day Three – Grand Cayman

After our incredible albeit very long and tiring Marvel Day at Sea onboard the beautiful Disney Dream, a much more chilled and relaxed day was definitely needed which thankfully is exactly what we got. When we first woke up on this morning, we were already anchored in Grand Cayman and it looked like it was going to be even more relaxed than what we thought as it was raining heavily and you could barely even see George Town and if the weather had stayed like that, we would have remained onboard that day. However luckily for us (and as is usual in the Caribbean), an hour later there was bright blue skies and sunshine and it turned into the most beautiful day of our entire trip so far. (more…)

  7. Disney Dream Marvel Day at Sea Cruise: Day Two – At Sea

On our first full day onboard the Disney Dream, I woke up just after 6:00am ready for our Marvel Day at Sea – one of the main reasons why we had booked this exact cruise! We already knew that it was going to be a very long day ahead but we also knew that we wanted to see and do as much as we possibly could so we had also set an alarm to make sure that we did not sleep in that morning – and the trouble with Disney Cruise Line beds is that they are so comfortable, that you do not want to move! (more…)

  8. Pros and Cons of Sailing Back to Back on Disney Cruise Line

If you have ever sailed on any cruise before, you normally have the same feeling on the last night which is usually “I really don’t want to get off tomorrow” shortly followed by “I wish we could stay onboard for another cruise”. I know that I have definitely always felt like this so earlier this year we booked a “Back to Back” sailing (two consecutive cruises on the same ship) onboard the Disney Wish and it was truly one of the best decisions we have ever made.
