1. What to Pack For a Trip to Iceland

I cannot say that I have ever researched what clothing I would need to pack when visiting another country until we booked a trip to visit Iceland earlier this year. The Icelandic weather is very unpredictable no matter what time of the year it is and can change every five minutes. Add rain, snow and extremely strong winds to the already cold temperatures means that you need to be prepared when being outside. (more…)

  2. Our Trip to Iceland – Day Five

I woke up on our last morning in Iceland without the need for an alarm clock. We did not have much to do at all on this day before we needed to head to the airport so we had a lazy morning and sat in bed until 9:30am before getting dressed and having breakfast downstairs in our hotel. (more…)

  3. Our Trip to Iceland – Day Four

After three early starts in a row, it was a pleasant change not to have to set an alarm to wake up on this day. After getting dressed, we had breakfast about 8:45am before wrapping up warm and heading out of the hotel to start our sightseeing around Reykjavik. (more…)

  4. Our Trip to Iceland – Day Three

Ever since I had seen a photo of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Black Diamond Beach, I had desperately wanted to visit so waking up early at 6:30am to see them at sunrise was not difficult in the slightest. The key to clothes for this morning was even more layers than usual and lots of them. After getting dressed, we left the hotel just after 7:00am and started the twenty minute drive towards Jökulsárlón – I do not think we saw another car on the road at all. (more…)

  5. Our Trip to Iceland – Day Two

As we had an early start on our first full day in Iceland, I had set my alarm for 6:30am. Thankfully I had slept well and as I knew we had a lot planned, it was easy to get out of bed ready for the long day ahead. After having a shower and getting dressed, we made our way downstairs for an early breakfast. (more…)

  6. Our Trip to Iceland – Day One

I do not really remember too much about my first visit to Iceland. It was seventeen years ago when myself and a group of work colleagues spent less than twenty four hours in Reykjavik and as it was December, it was dark for most of the time we were there. So ever since then, despite being able to say that I had been to Iceland, I could not really say that I had seen much of it at all so it has always been on my list of places to go back to. (more…)
